When Church meets coffee shop
Frankfurt is full of cafés. People come to them to meet friends, rest from work, or simply enjoy something good. And while people line up at coffee shops, many church buildings stand empty. For most people, church feels distant, unfamiliar, or just not for them. But a coffee shop? That feels like home.
That's why we're opening New Life Coffee — a nonprofit café where expertly crafted coffee meets genuine hospitality, and where conversations about life and faith can happen as naturally as they do anywhere else.
We're deeply inspired by Jesus who met people where they were. We want to do the same.

OUR VISION
THE CHALLENGE
Frankfurt craves connection. It has the highest share of single-person households of any major German city. 99% don't attend an evangelical church. Many do not even know what that is and many that do, are highly sceptical. Yet 43% of Germans still call themselves spiritual — and 1 in 3 say they'd like more meaning in their daily life. They haven't stopped searching…
OUR RESPONSE
New Life Coffee is our answer to that search. A familiar space where craft meets kindness, where barriers fall and everyday relationships grow. And where guests can see what church looks like as part of ordinary life.
On Sundays, the same low-threshold space becomes our worship gathering. The barista who made your flat white on Thursday might be the same person welcoming you through the door on Sunday.

A Catalyst for Good
Quality is our standard. People are our purpose. As a nonprofit café, every cup we serve does double duty: it's crafted with care, and it funds something bigger than coffee.
Social impact: 30% goes to Die Arche (The Ark), supporting disadvantaged children with meals, homework help, and a safe place to grow.
Stewardship: Beyond necessary reserves, the other profits help keep our church meeting space affordable — so donations can serve people, not rent.
Authentic community: Guests meet more than great products; through genuine relationships, they encounter a relational God.
A space, everyone feels welcomed: A café draws people from all ages, demographics and nationalities. A dedicated family room means parents don’t have to choose between community and caring for their children.

Equipment and furnishing of the coffee shop:** approx. $ 130,000
Rent and utilities for the first year:** approx. $70,000
