Hi, I'm Jermaine, pastor of New Life Church and a passionate barista.
Many people in Germany feel distanced from traditional church structures and perceive them as outdated or irrelevant. With New Life Coffee, we as a team want to counter these prejudices by creating a warm, welcoming space right where people already spend time and share life.
New Life Coffee is not just a coffee shop; it is a meeting place that naturally connects people with the love of Jesus.
OUR VISION
THE CHALLENGE
Frankfurt is lonely. It has the highest share of single-person households among Germany’s major cities. 99% do not attend an evangelical church. A majority doesn't even know what that is. Yet, many are searching for more than just a place to enjoy coffee - they are searching for connection, belonging and hope. Many evangelical churches could be appealing, but often people don't find their way there. The idea of a visit is often met with skepticism. After all, not being familiar with the place, the people or the faith creates uncertainty and often proves to be a major hurdle.
OUR RESPONSE
With the coffee shop, we are creating a welcoming and low-threshold environment that invites people who are far from church to experience the community of faith. Through high-quality coffee and offers as well as personal service, we aim to break down the social barriers and prejudices that prevent people from entering a church.
A CATALYST FOR GOOD
At New Life Coffee, it's not just about serving excellent coffee, although quality is our standard. We create:
A source of social impact: As a non-profit organization, we reinvest all our profits in charitable causes. In addition to enabling New Life Church to invest more in people instead of rent, 30% of our profits go to social institutions and projects. We want to start with the Frankfurter Arche (Arc) - a charity that supports disadvantaged children with food and homework supervision as well as attention and love.
A place to experience authentic Christian community: guests not only encounter great products, but through the human relationships they are introduced to a relational God.
A welcoming space - for everyone: a coffee shop is a place that all nationalities and ages enjoy visiting. Through an extra room designed specifically for families, parents and children also feel welcome, which is rare in big-city-cafés.

In order to open up this valuable community space, we are looking for partners to contribute to the start-up costs of New Life Coffee. For that we need:
Equipment and furnishing of the coffee shop:** approx. $ 130,000
Rent and utilities for the first year:** approx. $70,000
